Talentino was pleased to take part in Preparing for Adulthood Live 2026 in Sheffield, supporting learners through a series of practical, hands-on careers and employability activities.

Across the day, learners explored activities designed to support communication, teamwork, problem-solving, vocational awareness and future planning. Each activity was created to be visual, flexible and accessible, helping young people recognise their strengths, take part meaningfully and think about their future pathways in a practical way.

Supporting learners to explore their future

Talentino’s activity space gave learners the opportunity to engage with a range of SEND-friendly careers and Preparation for Adulthood tasks, including:

  • Careers matching and sorting challenges
  • Enterprise and design activities
  • Communication and symbol-based worksheets
  • Vocational profiling activities
  • Learner pathway discussions
  • Teamwork and construction challenges
  • Aspiration and future-thinking tasks

The activities encouraged learners to build confidence, share their ideas, work with others and begin making connections between their strengths, interests and possible next steps.

Practical employability in action

One of the team challenges invited learners to work collaboratively to design and build a structure capable of holding a set number of cans. This simple, practical task created opportunities to practise communication, organisation, teamwork and problem-solving in a fun and accessible way.

Rather than focusing only on job titles or future destinations, the activities helped learners experience some of the skills that support employability in everyday, meaningful ways.

Learner voice, vocational profiling and pathway planning

The afternoon session placed a stronger focus on learner voice, vocational profiling, Preparation for Adulthood pathways and future planning.

Learners and delegates explored:

  • Vocational profile activities
  • Pathway planning discussions
  • Careers and aspiration worksheets
  • Small-group reflection activities
  • Action-planning tasks

These activities supported young people to think about what matters to them, what they enjoy, what support they may need and what could help them move towards a meaningful adult life.

Sharing inclusive careers resources

Talentino also showcased a range of inclusive hard-copy careers and Preparation for Adulthood resources, including examples of vocational profile activities and learner-centred pathway planning tools.

These resources are designed to support schools, specialist settings, SEND units and alternative provision to make careers education more accessible, practical and meaningful for learners with SEND or additional needs.

Preparing for Adulthood Live 2026 was a valuable opportunity to meet delegates, share ideas and celebrate inclusive approaches to careers education, employability and future progression.
